We picked up this lovely concept by Hong-Kong based designer Kila Cheung. In the artists own words…
{the facebook} tries to use a modern style to present the traditional Chinese culture “physiognomies”. It records 57 people’s facial photos and their background, and analyze their facial charcter by “physiognomy”. I tried to input some new visual elements inside the book, and use some mordern graphic to present the abstract conception of “physiognomic”. I hope that {the facebook} can present this interesting Chinese traditional culture to both the young and people from other cultures.
To me, it’s a lovely tactile object which also comments on the differing depths of relationships between online friends / followers / identities. Check out Kila’s behance profile here.
