Adidas have created a giant manga comic with the help of kids which has been uploaded to a website. In preparation for the World Cup, the brand, in association with the Japanese football association, created 13 x 300 metre comic strip panels. Using a massive camera rigged to a balloon, the panels were photographed and then uploaded to a special website. The project took place in 13 cities over five weeks. As a nice touch and good luck gesture to the Japan team before they left, the individual panels were assembled as a single giant comic strip at Haneda Airport. Looks like it worked as the team scored their first victory in a World Cup outside their home country just yesterday. This is one of the most engaging and interesting projects we’ve seen for the World Cup.
